Saudi Accreditation and General Directorate of Laboratories of the Agricultural Agency hold a workshop to familiarize accreditation services

The Saudi Accreditation Centre, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Laboratories of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, held a workshop entitled "Laboratory accreditation services and inspection bodies" at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh.

The workshop began with an opening speech, followed by an introduction about Saudi Accreditation Centre and the accreditation services: accreditation of laboratories, accreditation of inspection bodies and explanation of accreditation steps. The workshop concluded with open discussion. A number of laboratories and private companies were attended the workshop.

The cooperation of the Saudi Accreditation Center with the General Administration of Laboratories at the Agency for Agriculture comes as the only national authority authorized to grant accreditation to conformity assessment bodies and out of its keenness to cooperate with the competent authorities to support its important role in raising the level and quality of services and products and their adequacy and increasing consumer confidence in them.

Saudi Accreditation Launches the Service of Accreditation of Management Systems Certification Bodies in the Occupational Health and Safety Management Program

The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) has launched the service of accrediting management systems certification bodies in the Occupational Health and Safety Management Program, in accordance with the international standard ISO 45001.

Where the management of Occupational Health and Safety enables establishments in its various activities to provide a healthy and safe work environment for all employees, by providing an integrated system for the prevention of work injuries and diseases affecting health.

The Saudi Accreditation Center grants the first accreditation certificate in the field of medical laboratories to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital’s laboratory

The Saudi Accreditation Center granted the accreditation certificate to the laboratory of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Madinah of the Ministry of National Guard. The accreditation covers the activity of medical laboratories in accordance with the international standard ISO 15189.

It is the first accreditation for medical laboratories operating in the government sector, and Saudi AJAL laboratory obtained the first accreditation certificate for medical laboratories in the private sector.

The accreditation of the two laboratories came after evaluation of the technical and administrative competences of the staff, the availability of adequate quality control and assurance procedures, the existence of appropriate practices in sampling and preservation, and the availability of appropriate equipment and environment for the tests.
